Built on a Brisbane worksite by a working chippy. After years of lead fees, ABN-free underbidders, and subbies not getting paid — there had to be a better way.
I'm Jayden — Brisbane-based chippy. I've spent years on the tools with my mate Jack, running a two-man crew across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Decks, retaining walls, alfresco builds, renos. The kind of work where you start early, quote on the go, and finish the day covered in sawdust.
While I was doing all that, I was also messing around with AI on the side — trying to build things, using it to help price jobs faster, estimate materials on site, figure out if a quote was actually worth taking. It started as a shortcut and turned into something I couldn't stop thinking about.
At the same time, the lead platforms were grinding me down. HiPages charging hundreds of dollars for leads that went nowhere. Airtasker letting anyone bid — no ABN, no licence, no insurance — just whoever was cheapest. I'd lose jobs to blokes who weren't even in the system. And when I did win the job, the commission on top of the lead fee meant I was working for less than I should have been.
Then there was the builder side. Jack and I saw it constantly — subbies finishing a job and waiting 60, 90, sometimes 120 days to get paid. No recourse, no leverage, just hope the builder came good. A secure escrow model seemed obvious: homeowner funds the job before it starts, tradie knows the money is there, platform releases it when the work is done. Why didn't this already exist?
So I built TradiHub — the platform I wanted when I was quoting jobs off the back of a ute. An all-in-one construction marketplace with the tools actually needed on site, without the fees that punish you for using it.
Every tool on TradiHub came from a real problem I had on the job. Not features dreamed up in a product meeting — things I actually needed while covered in dust.
